in my dreams …
that is where i see the world donna brazile points to.
I’m sorry if that’s the only place you think it’ll happen. Not that we don’t have a long way to go, mind you. But an Obama presidency would be a great help in the right direction…
oh, no, angryxer, you mistake my meaning.
in fact, today i have a real hope of seeing that world realized.
i was born in 1957. i saw the fearful anger unleashed in the open during the 1960s. i saw that fear and anger “normalized” in the ’80s.
now, in late 2008, it feels like we are breaking out into the sunshine of “one nation with liberty and justice for all.”
(and please don’t mistake THIS as meaning i am unrealistically optimistic, i mean merely that as a country we seem to be moving in the right direction.)
Oh, good! I’m glad I misread your meaning–& that you came back to correct me.
Me too, not unrealistically optimistic, but optimistically so. Now that McCain tanked his 3rd debate (by everyone’s opinion but the base, it seems), we’ve just got to run out the clock and hope the craziness keeps to a minimum (ie, more McCain Hail Mary’s and voting “irregularities” on election day).
Donna,
I feel your disappointment and your frustrations. Until we as a culture stick together and fight for ourselves we will just be here. I think your stand on national tv will be heard by many and motivate us to stand up for ourselves. Because I am with you I am NOT going to the back of the bus. I am not inferior because God created this world and in his eyes we are all equal. Thanks for taking a stand.
