It was one thing to watch in amazement as Kristol disassociated himself fast & furiously from the McCain campaign on Fox News yesterday. Turns out that was really low on the disbelief meter compared to today’s news. Now the McCain campaign is accusing Bill Kristol–the vile archneocon who has been actively perpetuating the myth that Sarah Palin would make a terrific VP–of being in Camp Obama? That is one of the funniest, most bizarre things I have heard yet in this election season. Just hilarious. Keith-O and Rachel are going to have a field day with this one. I’ve forced myself to watch a few of the McCain spokespeople videos, but I really can’t bear to post them. You can click here to see the vid on Think Progress (h/t Jed Report).

 

Yesterday on Fox News Sunday, Bill Kristol said John McCain’s campaign has really become “a pathetic campaign.” In his New York Times op-ed this morning, Kristol went further, suggesting that McCain should “fire his campaign” and “start over.” Asked to respond to Kristol’s criticisms, McCain campaign spokeswoman Nancy Pfotenhauer said on Fox News:

Well, you know Bill is entitled to his perspective. And I used to work for Bill. And I can tell you personally sometimes he’s brilliant and sometimes he’s not. And this is one where it’s the latter category. You know, I think unfortunately he has bought into the Obama campaign’s party line.
