…well, a subset anyway. Can we get our hero to take on the lay/lie apocalypse as well?

Of course, the Twitter superhero has a deliciously singular task of calling out the your/you’re error, which is alarmingly prevalent amongst those telling immigrants to learn English. Ironic, innit? I was dismayed to see that so many corrections were of Englishfolk; I’d thought the horrific rate of bigotry + grammatical trainwreck was a peculiarly American phenomenon. Thanks, Captain America*, for going above and beyond to help our errant friends across the pond as well.

So glad to see the pop-culture celebration of stat-geekdom. (Reported via Gawker and direct Twitter fun here!) Especially in light of all the right-wing BS hurled at Nate this year. He was a political forecasting giant in 2008 (not to mention a baseball stats god before that) on his independent 538.com blog, but this year under the NYT banner he was accused of an astonishing amount of left-wing propagandizing even though he was using the same damn protocols of prediction he’d always been using. Just another example of right-wing ignorance and bloviating at work. Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Nate, on the other hand, is Cool Hand Luke. To your health and continued success, Nate! Prost!
